At KYP, learner registrations are done through a raffle lottery system to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all applicants.

Registrations for our tutoring program are held once a year in January at all four KYP sites. We encourage parents and learners to look out for registration announcements in the beggining of each year.

We do not keep a waiting list. We encourage learners who would like to become KYP members to check in with us each term to see if space has become available.

No, our services are free and open to anyone form Kliptown and surrounding communities.

Yes, we do assis with ID applications, through the assitance of our Social worker at the Home Affairs.

We can assist a child in applying for a South African ID document if at least one parent is South African. If one parent is non-South African and the other is South African, we are able to assist as long as the South African parent’s information meets Home Affairs requirements.

If you would like to volunteer, you will need to register at our reception. You will be asked to select one day per week that suits you. To make sure everyone has a chance to get involved, volunteers serve only once a week.

Volunteering at KYP does not automatically guarantee a job opportunity. Volunteering is a personal choice, and we truly appreciate the time and commitment individuals choose to give in support of our community.

We regularly recruit new tutors to join our tutoring program to support learners with homework assistance and online learning support.

Working as a tutor at KYP is a volunteer opportunity that includes a small stipend. Tutors are required to commit to two hours per day, Monday to Friday.
